Key Take Aways…
The “Activate the Senses” theme was very inspiring at this year's show. There was a real emphasis placed on how the design of spaces can foster connections between people, brands and spaces. How things feel and are presented can have an impact on people by evoking memories and emotions to build a connection to the space. Companies such as Ryder Interiors created spaces within the conference that not only looked innovative and impressive but also embraced sustainability by working with recycled materials in their installations.
The entrance to the show was an immersive sensory experience designed by Sheppard Robson. The journey through the illuminated natural timber portal, woven together with the kinetic energy of light, celebrated the life cycle of the elements. It also made for great inspiration on how to bring a space to life when thinking about future Desk & Design projects!
Sustainability
The topic of sustainability was extremely prominent in most areas throughout the show. There was deadicated areas around the show with back to back talks on sustainability. A highlight for us was Global ESG talk which was chaired by Joanna Knight , Co-Founder of the Sustainable Design Collective. ESG has become a real buzz word within the office sector, with companies becoming more and more conscious of their buildings ratings.
Desk & Design are committed to helping companies manage their ESG ratings through things such as carbon footprint, resource usage and waste management. The Workspace show was a great opportunity to deepen our knowledge and make contacts that we can share with our customers.
See you next year Workspace Design Show 2026!
